Faberry is a lot more than Quinn and Rachel to me. If it weren’t for Faberry, I would have missed out on meeting so many amazing and diverse people and learning so many different things about them. I’ve been exposed to so much through fandom and I love it. And I know I’ve made a few friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime.
Just know that I love all of you. Yes, even you.

When I signed up for the class Islam and Politics in the Modern Middle East I was optimistic that it would be filled with people as open-minded as myself - those that knew that despite what the media tells us, Muslims are not the enemy. That, just as there is in any religion, there are a few radicals making everyone else look bad.
I was so, so wrong.
Why take a class about Islam if you indiscriminately hate Muslims? If you’re a racist bigot who refuses to open your mind to new ideas and instead sit in class and laugh or snort or make hate-filled comments at the lecture. Prime example:
The professor was discussing about how the Qur’an permits a man to have up to four wives provided that the man can care for his wives equally. The response by some narrow-minded, bigoted asshole to that was:
“It’s easy to treat ‘em all equal if you treat ‘em like crap like they all do.”
I’m very ashamed of myself for not speaking up but I was so stunned by this that I just couldn’t formulate anything to say.
Not sure how much longer I can put up with this guy’s shit. He’s made other ‘questionable’ comments and I’ve kept to myself but I know that standing by and not saying anything is almost as bad as being the one making the comment.
I’m reblogging this from my personal Tumblr just because I feel the need to remind us all that outside of the little Tumblr bubble where everyone is equal, the world is not the same. You already knew that, I’m sure, but it never hurts to be reminded that we’re nowhere near a hate-free society. I can promise that I’ll be confronting this man about his hateful attitude and I encourage you to do the same when you hear or see acts of hate toward anyone just because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, etc.
Before I begin, I just want to send my most sincere apologies and sympathies to anyone who lost a loved one in the 9/11/01 tragedy or any loved ones in the wars since then. It was a senseless tragedy that I and millions of others wish had never happened.
